Batu Caves Visit

This is my first time here... Batu Caves~

I went there after attended my Malay friend's wedding at Selayang. Since the Batu Caves is very near to the wedding I attended. I decided to visit there.

Well, actually I confirmed my trip there just because I wanted to avoid the traffic jam. The direction from Selayang back to PJ was so jammed at that moment. I preferred to make full use of my valuable time, rather than trapped in the jam, doing nothing, but wasting the petrol and causing pollution.

I have been staying in KL for quite some time, pass by this place for multiple times, but never visit there.

Once you enter the place, there will be a place to collect your parking fee, which is RM2 per car... If you come with a bigger vehicle, the price will be different, the bigger your vehicle, the more they charged. Well, they did charge more for vans and buses, but I could not remember the parking fees.

Well, there are shops around the area, and nothing much left. My sister and I decided to climb up the staircase and see what's inside. There are a few hundreds steps of the staircase and we were so excited as we were able to make our way up till the top.

You will see a very big statue when you enter the area or when you are on your way to get into the cave.

This is the view from the peak of the staircase. Nothing much to see, only the terrible traffic jam at the highways.

What a hazy day!

Oh ya, a reminder here, female visitors with short pants and shirts are not allowed to climb up the stair. Perhaps it is a place for worship and females should wear in proper attires when visiting such place.

But another reason will be -- steep staircase! Yes, the staircase is very steep and if you are looking up while climbing up, you can easily see something that you are not suppose to see. LOL...

Therefore, a warm reminder for all female visitors, please wear longer pants and shirts when visiting Batu Caves, if not, you can prepare a scarf and cover up yourselves, just for protection.

There is also a Dark Cave somewhere near the peak of the Batu Caves. There is extra charges to go inside the cave. If I'm not mistaken, it's about RM35 per pax.

I peeped a bit and it was so dark that you won't be able to see a thing. That place had unpleasant smell, which smelt some sort like bats' shit. So my sis and I decided not to go inside. Felt creepy when you can't see a thing.

My new shoe... Scholl

Lastly, I bought my shoe!!! Found my shoe size in Paradigm Mall... I can wear my new shoe for work now. Come and have a look on my new shoe...

How it looks? I know the pattern is not attractive as the usual one that we usually shop outside, but that's all they have in Scholl, what to do? Just try to bear with it. Anyway, I'm looking for shoe to protect leg and knee, not shoe that just look good but bring you pain... In fact, this shoe seems similar with my old Scholl shoe, guess they don't have much choices there.

All of the Scholl shoes are specially meant for leg and knee protection. Mine got arch support for the insole, good to wear, allow you to stand and walk for long time while giving comfort to your legs.

Still remember the orthotic insole that I bought last time before I'm able to get my new shoe? I'm no longer using that now, but I'll put them in my other shoes so that it still provide its service. Hehe...

My favourite shoe ~ Scholl

Dietitian needs to stand and walk a lot, especially when you are working in big hospital. I have been suffering from leg pain recently. Guess it's time to change my shoe.

I started to use Scholl shoe since I worked. A pair of nice shoe to give you comfort and protection. However, I still having leg pain, may be the shoe had served me for too long ( I guess about 1 1/2 year ), it's time to give it a rest already.

Initially I was planning to shop for the shoe, but the shop didn't have the size I want. Then I started to check on the biomechanics thing at shelf.

The full name is biomechanics heels and knee pain reliever. They have different type of the orthotic insole for better cushioning and foot support. Different biomechanics range serve different purpose and different protection, but mainly to reduce the pain and stress on foot region.

The one I bought is 3/4 length orthotic insole. It's easy to be used, just put it inside your shoe and you are ready for your walk. It's available in 3 sizes, which is small, medium and large, make sure you get your exact size so that it can fit your foot well.

This is how it looks like, cute isn't it? Just put inside your shoe. Well, the cushion in my own Scholl shoe is actually flatten out already since I wear it most of the time. Before I'm able to get my new shoe, I guess it's better to get something as a replacement at this moment, I don't really able to stand the pain whenever I walk too much.

This is what it does to help reduce pain and soreness of foot. Not bad huh???

Well, this biomechanics is just something to be use temporarily until I'm able to get the shoe I wanted. At least, it fits into all type of flat shoe...

Again, it's time to shop for shoe.... huh...

Disaster for dietitian!

Chinese New year holiday is just over, and I gained 1.5kg within that one whole week. Isn't it a disaster?

I admitted that I have poor control of my diet during CNY, but who don't have this problem during festive season? Hehe...

I went for training in gym, trying to shake off some of the kilos that I gained during CNY. Well, it is always very important for a dietitian to control body weight.

Let's get moving, everyone!
